So E3 just started, and I figured I'll post here the trailers for the games I'm excited to start playing.
EA
They've decided to go first and own the first day. I guess that was fine. Ignoring the massacre in Orlando was strange (something the other companies did not do, and good on them). other than that, it was an ok show. Only 2 titles interested me here.
MASS EFFECT ANDROMEDA
It's coming to PS4, so that makes it interesting to me as a gamer. The premise, of a whole universe to explore with more freedom of play and vast canvas to explore scratches the kind of itches I have for the new generation of games.
TELLTALE'S THE WALKING DEAD
I love Telltale's games and way of storytelling. Out of all the games they put out I'm still most fond of the Fables adaptation. I played the Walking Dead games, but I lost them on the last installment. The fact that the whole thing is scripted and the "freedom" is just an illusion is part of the way the game is constructed, and I shouldn't hoped for my choices to really affect the game. On the other hand they make so much noise around that point and show you what you compared to others, and I'm thinking that they should make the story a bit more complex and make those choices have more value. Anyways, I wasn't sure I'll want to play any more games from The Walking Dead series., but this new trailer does gets me excited. It's a teaser, so don't expect much.
There were also other games from EA, like a trailer full of promises that they will make great Star Wars games... But really? A trailer of promises with nothing really in it... Why bother? I'm not going to think about it until there's more there.
SONY
Before I go into the games themselves, I have to give it to Shawn Layden. His appearance on the stage was remarkable. From all the events that took place so far he was the most professional, the most interesting and the most sincere. He knew how to sell the event, and more importantly to give it to the games to speak. In general, this was the best conference so far and I can't see anyone doing better this week. (Ubisoft were horrible in that regards, over the top and annoying).
DEATH STRANDING
Seeing Kojima coming up on stage sent shiver down my spine, and this trailer looks like something that will change the way stories are told. I trust Kojima. I want this game badly.
And a bonus - the video clip of the music used in the trailer. Because t was beautiful.
SPIDERMAN
I'm not sure about this one. My brother thinks it's going to be great, so I'm adding it here
HORIZON ZERO DAWN
I love the visuals, and the gameplay looks sweet. On one hand I want to play this one, on the other I'm not sure yet if it won't be just too much to handle. I'm having issues with The Witcher (I love it, but I know I'm missing tons of the world because I just don't care to learn most of it).
anyways, it is exciting.
DETROIT: BECOME HUMAN
Supposed to be inspired by Issac Asimov stories, this game from the creator of Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls tells a futuristic story that looks like its going to be much more complex than its predecessors.
The trailer is interesting, showing all the options for one of the scenes.
GOD OF WAR
Sony opened up with this and it's great. it hits all the marks. I love the fact that they changed the gameplay and it feels like something I would love to drown in.
DAYS GONE
I was sure, when the music started and the narration kicked in, that we are going to see the trailer for The Last of Us 2. It wasn't, but it feels like it, which makes me hopeful. and if you're watching this and thinking "another zombie game", you're missing the point. Zombies are nothing more than settings. The Last of Us proved that. I hope this will prove that again.
UBISOFT
This was a horrible show. reminded me of the over the top Samsung conferences that are more embracing than fun. nothing was good about the presentations. The games looked great, I'm only interested in one:
FOR HONOR
This looked amazing when it was first released. It looks even more interesting now. Can't wait to get my hands on it.
TOM CLANCY'S GHOST RECON WILDLANDS
Ok, I missed this somehow. looks promising. As my brother said, this looks like what The Division should have been.
AND MORE
As E3 continues we are getting more and more games coming out and things keep looking interesting.
DEUS EX GO
One of those games in the Deus Ex Go, the third installment (after Hitman Go and Lara Croft GO. It looks as interesting and challenging ad the first, and the esthetics are just gorgeous.
Destiny: Rise of Iron
The trailer and official announcement was done last week, and it looks absolutely breathtaking. I can't wait to explore the new areas and gameplay. This is an interview by IGN with DeeJ, Bungie's Community Manager.
FINAL FANTASY XV
Last game I forgot to add is the latest in the FInal Fantasy world. Never followed the whole series, but the few I played always left me at awe. This one looks incredible.
CALL OF DUTY: INFINITE WARFARE
Not that of a fan of the series, played a few but never ran with it. I think I should. Anyways, my friends who are avid fans were extremely disappointed with the theme. I'm totally in and can't wait to get it.
